Southern Cross CC was well represented at the Tamworth 2-day Junior Tour by Laura Triggs and Evan Pignatelli. Congratulations to Laura for placing 2nd in the overall GC (U17W). Laura also won the KOM for the weekend and took home the Poker-dot jersey. Congratulations to Evan for placing 4th in the overall GC (U15B- B grade). Evan also won the first Stage and wore the Yellow jersey for the second race.
We wish Jared Triggs and Jack Beckinsale all the best as they leave on this week to go to Boulder, USA with their team for some exciting racing. We look forward to some news about their time over in USA. The NSW Road Team Time Trials are being held this weekend at Calga for the Masters and U19 teams.
Southern Cross CC has entered a team in both these grades. We will be represented by Ian Drinnan, Brian Peters, Craig Rogers and Colin Goldsmith in the Masters All Ages event and our U19 Team will comprise Joshua Cornish, Aiden Reynolds, Tirian McManus. We look forward to Tirian’s return to cycling following his recuperation. We wish these teams all the best and hope you have a good time. A REMINDER to these riders that they must ride in Club Uniform and take their Cycling Licence with them as this is needed when you register.
Sunday 20th June 2010 is the third Point-score race for the year. Earn bonus points and race this weekend at Waratah Park. This is Handicap Road racing in all the junior age and Masters groups with points allocated to all starters and finishers and first 5 Placegetters.
Sunday 27th June 2010 is the Southern Cross Club Road Championships. Racing will be run in all Age Divisions and Trophies are awarded at the end of the year from this event.
Sunday 4th July 2010 is the first race event of the month at Waratah Park so prize money is given to the first 3 placegetters in all Masters Grades.
On Saturday 17-18th July 2010 the Southern Cross CC is hosting The Metropolitan and Country Junior Road Championships and the Southern Cross Junior Road Open which at Waratah Park, Sutherland. If you children have not entered they can register up until the 4 July 2010 via the Cycling NSW web page. Riders with Kidz Licences will not be able to ride on these days unless you upgrade to a FULL Licence. If your children are not racing during this weekend, we still encourage you to attend this race meet, soak in the atmosphere and watch many of NSW’s best junior riders in all age groups compete for metropolitan and country titles. We also need lots of volunteers for these 2 days and would welcome your support to help us host this significant annual event.
